Youth Performers for Youth Night @ the Dream
Canadian Stage TD Dream in High Park

Canadian Stage is now accepting applications from young artists of all varieties to perform for a captive audience at Youth Night @ The Dream. Artists of all disciplines are welcome to apply and we are hoping to see a wide variety of talents grace our stage during the pre-performance event—musicians, actors, comedians, dancers, jugglers, fire-eaters or any performance at all! The Queer West Film Festival is looking for submissions of short films between 5 and 15 minutes. Since the Queer West Film festival (QWFF) aims to contest city and identity boundaries, you don’t necessarily have to live in the Queer West neighbourhood. Toronto is a city where queers come from different spaces, converging and diverging to create their own sense of community, and the Queer West Film Festival emphasizes that sense of connectedness. Submit a film that exemplies how you construct or deconstruct identity, how you (re)claim space and/or how predetertimined boundaries affect you. FINGERPAINT – Which finger? The middle one! Pointing at tightened straightjackets and dogmatic systems. With our other hand we beckon queer artists to give us a hand and add their paint to the wall at Queer West Fest’s art show opening on Saturday August 7. Open Call for Submissions
The Grand Trunk @ The Gladstone Hotel

Emerging curator Casey Hinton is inviting artists to submit portfolios and samples of their work for the opportunity to be commissioned for an exhibition, temporarily titled “The Grand Trunk” taking place at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, in March of 2010. The Hotel, built in 1889 is Toronto’s oldest hotel still in operation and will serve as the platform for the narrative thread that ties all the commissioned works together.

Nominations are open for Mixed Company Theatre’s Rising Star Award. Mixed Company Theatre invites members of the public to nominate youth 25 years and under for the Award.

The Rising Star Award will be presented to a young person who has created positive solutions by educating, engaging, and empowering his/her peers and community.

Individuals Making Positive Social Change Together (IMPACT) is the youth advisory committee for Mixed Company Theatre. IMPACT is inviting new members to submit project proposals for our winter and spring shows.
As a Project Leader, you are responsible for;
-attending mandatory meetings (Thursday Nov 5, Thursday Dec 3) and weekly meetings starting January and March
-to organize and develop a forum theatre presentation in a collaborative setting.
-to set up community soundings and organize a small tour of the show.
