YOUTH DAY, now in its 6th year, is a non-profit operated FREE summer festival held at Yonge-Dundas Sq with an unprecedented Yonge St closure. We are expecting an audience of over 25,000+ in 2012! YOUTH DAY features over 100 live music and dance performances on 2 non-stop stages over 10 hours; mostly by youth 14 – 24 years old. Also included is a Youth Art Gallery, a Kiddie corner for kids under 12, an on-stage Fashion Show, a sports player meet&greet;, a vendor market along Yonge St and much more! Read more…

The Subtext Festival is a dynamic, two day multi-arts event taking place beneath the Lawrence Avenue East Bridge on August 27 & 28, 2011. Featuring live music, storytelling, dance, interactive arts activities and much more, Subtext will introduce visitors to the natural ravine area and unique amphitheatre created by the soaring pillars of the bridge overhead. The festival is the culminating event and celebration of the summer-long Bridging Project, and links the above-bridge murals with the natural environment below. Read more…

Call for Stage Manager: Summerworks OUTDOORS at Fort York

‘Pretty Little Instincts’ is touring from Victoria to the Toronto Summerworks Festival as part of the National Series.

We are looking for a fabulous Stage Manager or ASM who is organized and has a great attitude. This is a HIGHLY UNUSUAL show – performed outdoors with a makeshift lighting rig in the grassy moat at Fort York, a 10 minute walk from the Summerworks Festival.

Must be available for at least two rehearsal run-throughs and all performances. Read more…

Soup Can Theatre Seeks Volutneer Sound Board Operator

Soup Can Theatre is in need of a sound board op for our upcoming production of MARAT/SADE. They’d be needed for the tech days July 17th (probably 9am-8pm), July 18th (probably 12-10pm) and the performances July 19th-23rd at 8pm and July 24th at 2pm. All performances will be held at the Alumnae Theatre (mainspace). This is a volunteer position.
